Representatives of Friendly Countries Attend Jakarta Anniversary Reception

Jakarta Provincial Government held a reception to celebrate Jakarta's 498th Anniversary at Balairung, City Hall, Sunday (6/22).
It represents Jakarta's efforts in becoming an inclusive and world-class city
Several invited guests representing ambassadors from friendly countries began arriving at City Hall at 3:30 PM. They began to enter the Balairung room at 4 PM to watch the Betawi dances and keroncong songs, while enjoying the food and drinks.

Rano said the anniversary celebration momentum must be used to invite all parties in reflecting the journey, challenges and future direction of Jakarta which will become the national economy center and a global city.
"Global and Cultured City is the main theme of Jakarta's 498th Anniversary. It represents Jakarta's efforts in becoming an inclusive and world-class city by maintaining its identity and cultural values," Rano said.
He added connectivity and synergy between economic, social and cultural activities are Jakarta's future development direction.
"Thanks to all parties support in implementing programs that encourage the development of cultural experiences, as well as increasing tourism potential and the creative economy. This leads to various achievements that we have today," Rano added.
Rano continued that Jakarta continues to open up collaboration space with various parties, including the international
community."We have had dialogues with a number of ambassadors and representatives of friendly countries, such as Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Korea, Singapore, France, Canada, Sweden, England, Chile, Romania, Guatemala to explore the potential for cooperation in building Jakarta as an open and adaptive global city," Rano continued.
He also expressed his appreciation for the contribution of representatives of friendly countries in Jakarta's journey so far.
"Let's welcome the 500th anniversary of Jakarta later on with a new spirit and synergy. It aims to realize Jakarta as an inclusive, sustainable city that brings prosperity to the community without abandoning the history and cultural values," Rano stated.
